Learn to teach with the Royal Academy of Dance
Study in London or by distance learning
We offer a portfolio of taught and distance learning programmes which can be studied full or part-time at RAD Headquarters in London or in your country of residence. By becoming a student of the RAD’s Faculty of Education you will be joining an international community of dance students, teachers, researchers and practitioners with a passion for dance and dance teaching. We have 34 international offices which support Faculty of Education students in different locations, with one distance learning programme being delivered in eight languages.
RAD graduates are in demand
Our graduates are highly sought after by employers, with a very high employment rate across all of our programmes. Our graduates teach dance in private dance schools, vocational schools, primary and secondary schools, community settings, and in Further or Higher Education. Many have set up their own successful dance schools, and have become leaders within the wider field of dance education and training.
World class education
Our tutors are highly experienced dance teacher educators with expertise in delivering onsite and distance learning programmes. Being active dance teachers, practitioners and researchers means our tutors bring current practices, research and thinking on dance and dance education into their teaching. We pride ourselves in supporting all of our students and graduates at every stage of their careers as well as acknowledging their personalised learning needs and career aspirations.
Connected with the world of dance
We have partnerships and connections with many prestigious dance education, training and industry organisations around the world. Our teaching placements, extra curricula activities and professional engagement opportunities add to your learning experience, ensuring that you are well prepared for taking your teaching into a range of different dance contexts.
Registered Teacher Status
On successful completion of one of our programmes, graduates are eligible to apply for registered teacher status with the RAD.
