Inside Envelopes wint eerste prijs in Israëlische filmcompetitie

Shelly Kling heeft met haar documentaire Inside Envelopes de eerste prijs gewonnen in de Israëlische filmcompetitie van ‘Epos 4’ International Art Film Festival van het Museum of Arts in Tel Aviv. Inside Envelopes gaat over choreografe en danseres Keren Levi. De prijs houdt onder andere in dat de film vertoond wordt tijdens het San Francisco Jewish Film Festival dat plaatsvindt in juli en augustus van dit jaar.

Voor de documentaire volgde Kling in 2010 het creatieproces van de dansvoorstelling Envelopes van Keren Levi. De uit Israël afkomstige en in Nederland woonachtige Levi maakte deze voorstelling met haar jongere zus Reut, muzikant (en voormalige geliefde van Levi) Tom Parkinson en zijn tweelingbroer Alex. De film documenteert de persoonlijke en professionele relaties.

De internationale jury, met Levi Zini, Ari Davidovich en Lexi Leban, zei het volgende over de film: “We were amazed to realize that this is your first feature… the film breaks the boundaries of the documentary making… you present a complicated film with strong and wonderful characters”.

De Nederlandse première van Inside Envelopes vond dit weekend plaats tijdens Cinedans. De film is in ons land voorlopig alleen nog te zien in Theater Kikker. Klik hier om kaarten te bestellen.
